Word association

We’re going to go through and play word association with all 30 teams at the All-Star break. Why? Because I said so and I think it might be fun.

Hawks: Inconsistency. The Hawks are 28-30 on the season. They have two different seven-game winning streaks along with six-game and five-game losing streaks. They also had a 22-game stretch where they went 6-16 and a 16-game stretch where they went 11-5. So, yeah.

Hornets: Points. The average Hornets game features 228.5 points scored — most in the league by nearly 2 full points. (Rockets games have averaged 226.6 points.)

Heat: Sleeper. I heard a great stat on Zach Lowe’s podcast with Kevin Pelton. Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo have played just 59 minutes together so far this season. The Heat are still tied for first in the East at the All-Star break.
