The San Antonio Spurs are going to the NBA Finals. They've vanquished the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder. They are here, and they are here decidedly ahead of schedule.

The Spurs, somehow, are even younger (minutes-weighted age of 24.6 years old during the playoffs) than last year's Thunder (24.7), who themselves were the youngest champion since the 1970s. It seemed just a year ago like we were going to be living in the Thunder era for forever and a day. Instead, the Spurs prevented them from even going back to the Finals in the first place, let alone winning it in back-to-back years. (Don't worry, they'll be back.) And damn if it doesn't feel like we're going to be living in the Spurs era for forever and a day now, regardless of what happens against the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.
